Dressing in the Dark

Every morning, when my two older children wake up to get ready for school( around 6am) they do not like to turn on the lights. "My eyes hurt!" they say. So for as long as I can remember, they have been brushing their teeth and dressing in the dark.

This morning, N, came to my room and complained to hubby: "Mum gave me a school shirt that does not have a name tag on it!" Hubby, who was also dressing in the dark (he doesn't turn on the lights, coz he does not want to disturb me in my sleep), told him: "It must have fallen off when Kakak washed it. Just let mum know when you get home, and she will sew one on for you."

He later heard N grumbling that the maids must have ripped off his shirt pocket as well, as his shirt had no pocket.

As they were going down to breakfast, hubby noticed that N had his shirt on inside out. He had worn it, and even buttoned it all the way, the wrong way around!! (i.e. pocket and name tag all against his body instead of facing out!!). He didn't even notice it!! And he thought the maids ripped off his pocket and name tag whilst washing!

Hahaha! That's a good one. Good thing, your hubby noticed the 'error'. My girl has her bedroom lights on. She needs to comb and tie up her hair .... preening before the full length mirror on her cupboard door! A girl thing, I supposed?

Quite a feat to button the shirt inside out!!! I dress in the dark everyday except weekends.Very important, always always after slipping on the top, to check if the label is in it's correct location.

Your kids are great that they can dress in the dark and brush teeth in the dark some more?

If for all the times they have dressed in the dark and this is the first time your son has worn his shirt inside out, it is very good record!

LOL, all of us have probably had such moments at one time or another. The inside-out t-shirt =P

HI ECL
Good thing he did not wear his sister's blouse! he would have probably freaked out!

hi Judy & Jonzz
The amazing thing was he managed to even button it all, without even realising it!

Huh, how did N manage to do that without realising it? He must be quite creative, haha. That is a whole lot more difficult to do than the mistake I always made when wearing my shirt as a kid, i.e. 1st-button-in-2nd button-hole, 2nd-button-in-3rd-button-hole, and so on.

Haha, I agree with Bkworm... good thing your husband noticed, if not N would have gone to school with his shirt inside out! The things we can do with our eyes closed... amazing!!!

Hi sweetpea
Hope he learns to check before complaining next time.

Hi Victor
Yes, that is something which he does too! but when he gets to the bottom, he knows to start over again - self correcting.

Yes bp
We thot it funny that he complained and yet did not think of getting another shirt!

hi tigerfish
Have not used that "blur like sotong" phrase for a long time. Brings back memories
